Bordalo II reinvents street art, recycled art and urban art all in one

Portuguese street artist Artur Bordalo, aka Bordalo II, finds his inspiration by rifling through Lisbon’s garbage and trash.

Where others might see plastic containers, dented car parts, broken crates and leftover tires, Bordalo sees ideal materials to incorporate into his artwork. His creations, located throughout the city, are composed of trash and recycled materials, which he spray-paints and molds into new forms, transforming heaps of garbage into oversized ducks or gigantic insects.

In addition to his ongoing trash series, Bordalo spray-painted railroad tracks in Lisbon, Portugal to create playful sheet music designs along the track lines.
